It's the annual Apartment Special, just in time to look through while this whole Rent Stabilization fight is going on. The magazine has very helpful tips on what to know before one signs a lease, how to maximize space (like a tiny kitchen) and who to call to clean and put in order specific areas in your apartment -- for example, from easy things like dusting to tricky areas like the bathroom. It also gives a breakdown to specific areas (10 are featured) that are being looked at as the "new" places to move for cheaper rents.

For those who want a very basic knowledge of what to do or look out for before signing that lease, please pick this issue up or borrow the magazine from a friend and make a xerox of the article! It has a breakdown of advice on two levels: the more thorough approach and the "real world" approach. It has very good advice on how to find out about noise issues, what to look for. Also, infestations and other potential problems. Very informative and easy to grasp! Copies are flying off shelves so go get one!
