typographic error on lease

Posted by susan siegrist on April 19, 2001 at 14:29:33:

I have lived in a rent stablized, 12 unit brownstone for 25 years. Every two years, I sign another lease with my landlady. My current lease runs from March 2000 to March 2002. I recently noticed that my landlady inadvertently wrote the begin-end dates as both beginning and ending "March 2000." The lease is dated March 2000. Is this a valid lease until March 2002, or should I ask my landlady to initial a correction on it?

Thank you for your help. I have a feeling its a not a real problem, but I want to make sure, since my landlady is very ill and if she does die before this edition of my lease is up, I want to make sure I'm legally protected.

Susan
