You're right--my earlier post was wrong in stating that you can sign away your right to extermination in NYC. Absolutely positively not. Here is the link to the NYC Multiple Dwelling Code--

Landlord have an obligation to exterminate bugs and eliminate harborages.
This is a right for non-regulated as well as regulated tenants. However, if you are not rent stabilized I dont think you can avail yourself of the DHCR.
