It does matter if you live in an area that requires rentals to meet certain codes such as the BOCA or CABO. I had a home that had to meet CABO specks and the door had to be not less than 3 foot in width and 6 feet 8 inches in height. This may help her get out of the lease not because of the size of her couch, but because it is "non-conforming" and the Landlord would not want the inspectors demanding a new entranceway!!!
