extracting info from DHCR

Ridiculous. How long are they telling you a FOIA request will take?

I NEVER got an answer to my request for my landlord's filing. When I got a copy in the course of a lawsuit, I wrote a complaint to DHCR. Never heard back on that either.

Maybe you could try calling the DHCR commissioner's office directly if it doesn't come within a certain amount of time, as John Q. Public suggested for the rent histories.

Or if you have a pro-tenant assemblyman or state senator, you might call the person on their staff who works on housing and see if they will help you. I've gotten help from my local council member getting documents more quickly from HPD and DOB.
