I think you need to narrow your question a bit. Also you are a little early to think about moving except NOW is a good time to put in an application for Stuyvestant Town/Peter Cooper Village (the big private middle-class housing on the east side). It has lengthy, sometimes multi-year waiting lists but something might come up in the next year.
