Are you sure its even the landlord's fence ? Fences along property lines me be owned by one neighbor or the other, or even jointly by both.

In any case I doubt this rises to a "warantee of habitability" issue so I doubt your landlord is required to fix it. You might try negotiating with him, if both of you are on good terms, whereby you will renew your lease if he repairs the lease.

: I live in Sacramento California, if my back fence is falling down is it the landlord's responsibility to fix it (within a reasonable timeframe) or can he refuse to fix it? Thank you.
