There are posts (questions and answers) from people in areas outside of NYC. The laws in NY are monumentally different than most of the rest of the country, therefore, it is of major importance to state where you are from (as has been pointed out in some recent posts I have just read). For those from other areas, it is important to realize that some of the replies here, though excellent information for NY residents, have no basis outside of NY and will get you into trouble if you try to follow this advice anywhere but in the great state of New York.
