30 day notice is for one rental period. That means if the rent is due on the 1st, your rental period is the 1st to the month to the last of the month and your notice must be given thirty days before the first day of the month . For example: If your rent is due on the 1st and you want to be out April 15, you will have to give the Landlord notice on the 1st of MArch to make sure it is 30 days before one rental period. Its not 30 consecutive running days no matter where they fall.
