Most states allow a landlord that lives on the premises a few perks, such as being able to discriminate in certain areas. However, most other laws still apply. Security deposit laws usually apply to all. I cannot be more specific because you have not provided a great deal of information here. You "sound" upset. So -take a deep breath and give us some more facts.
