Why are lawyers not taking your case?
I thought that in order to get a default judgment, a plaintiff has to submit a "military affidavit" swearing that the person is not in the military. Sounds like you have a strong case but I am not a lawyer.
You should try the county lawyer referral service. You may be able to get one pro bono--maybe. There are legal clinics run by the county bar associations, such as one that used to be one night a week in Manhattan.
