Did the landlord serve you with notice on the construction? Did he give you a timeframe as to how long the construction would be going on? Has he cut off water or electricity to you? Are you rent controlled, or stabilized, are you living in NYC? Has the LL provided you with any kind of information? Please provide more details.

: My landlord is renovating the apt above mine. The work is being done ONLY on the weekends. Beginning at about 8am we wake to power tools and hammers. This has gone on for 5 straight weekends! We have complained each weekend and nothing has been done.

: Is it legal for the landlord to do this on weekends? (I also doubt he has a construction permit)

: Can I not pay for the days we were affected?
