One of the most basic rules in rent stabilization renewal leases is that the landlord can't add any clauses that are more restrictive to the tenant than her original lease (with a couple of exceptions required by a couple of laws...).

So: is there a no-pet clause in your first lease from ten years ago?

Before you move and/or get rid of the dog, bring ALL your leases to a tenant-lawyer or to a tenant-clinic.
