In some cases, apparently not here, in NYC if you openly harbor a pet for 90 days, the LL waives his right to object. You can ignore 'Real Estate Mogul' and his arrogance. But because it's less than 90 days, the law is on the owner's side.
Maybe you should find out why the other apartment in the building you were in should be rent stabilized and make a claim if warranted?
If they evict you, they cannot claim rent for the remaining portion of the lease. What is the name of this landlord lawyer?
