That person did not have a right to lock you out and keep your stuff. Call the police and have them escort you in to remove your stuff. What this person's doing is totally illegal. Get the police report done -- it will be proof in case the guy wants to go to court over this.

: I was subleasing from another person and now he wont let me have my stuff back. I came back to get the items back before my rent was up and he would not let me go in to get my stuff. Now he is saying that I owe him rent and that if I don't pay he will sell my stuff. Is this right? I had no lease or contract with him and he is leasing the house from some one else. There was a verbal contract that stated I would pay rent on the 20th of the month. The person has 2 locks on the house and he would only give me a key to the bottom lock not the dead bolt. He started locking the dead bolt so I could not get in and this was before my rent was up. Is this legal? please get back to me.
: Thanks,
: Carl
