I was subleasing from another person and now he wont let me have my stuff back. I came back to get the items back before my rent was up and he would not let me go in to get my stuff. Now he is saying that I owe him rent and that if I don't pay he will sell my stuff. Is this right? I had no lease or contract with him and he is leasing the house from some one else. There was a verbal contract that stated I would pay rent on the 20th of the month. The person has 2 locks on the house and he would only give me a key to the bottom lock not the dead bolt. He started locking the dead bolt so I could not get in and this was before my rent was up. Is this legal? please get back to me.
