the entry door to our rent stabalised brownstone is very poor quality. in fact, you can gain entry to the buliding by pushing a credit card into the lock in just a matter of seconds.

when I asked a policman who was in the building to take a report on a break-in about this, he said his professional opinion of the lock was that it was "a joke".

what is the landlord's repsponsiblity on this issue? how we can persuade our LL to install an effective barrier to future criminal entry?
