If you eventually get married, you can insist that the landlord add your wife's name to the lease, the next time your lease comes up for renewal. This would be at the renewal increase rate -- and not at the vacancy increase rate.

But if you want to add your fiance's name to the lease now, or even the next time it comes up for renewal, you would be subject to the minimum vacancy increase of 18% for a one-year lease or 20% for a two-year lease.
