You have to mention where you are living (state?). If you took pictures or a videotape when you moved out that would give you proof of how you left the place, as for me, I ALWAYS make a videotape of the apartment before I leave just so I can get the deposit back. I had a landlord in NYC (Robert Eberhart) try to get $200 painting cost out of my security deposit because he INSISTED I painted the walls pink and he had to repaint them, I told him I had pictures of the white walls and then he refunded everything to me.

: I understand the prorated rent. But how can painting and cleaning services total $310? Although this is subjective, I left the place in great condition. No holes, no stains, nothing. I find it hard that a cleaning service would cost $140 considering most maids earn no more than $8/hr.
