Just had my living room painted. It cost me $300 - and that was my best price. Haven't had any professional cleaning people, but if they get $300 for labor on painting, I'm sure that cleaning isn't far behind. If your stove was really bad - it could be a 3 or 4 hour job easily!!! Bathroom tile - ditto. It adds up. I would at least write the LL and tell him that you disagree with assessment and split the painting and cleaning costs. That may get you something and keep you out of court.
