I live in an illegal loft, (it isn't covered by loft laws), and we have organized, retained lawyers, and are suing under the rent stablization laws. Those laws apply to any building with 6 or more residential tenants. They, the lawyers, have won and settled cases like this often. But I think that tenants in this situation need to organize and use our political power. I'm looking for interested people- e-mail me.
