No: we have no dishonest landlords in New York City: they are all saints who provide more than enough heat and never never overcharge us.

Probably is, regardless of what your landlord says or what amount of rent you pay. Frequent scam: "renovate" then illegally charge the next schmoo >$200 & tell him it's legal!

Read about this subject here and on the homepage. Call DHCR 718.739.6400.. and get a "rent history" and an overcharge fact sheet. Bring both to your local tenant clionic to decipher.
