Richard, you just earned yourself another suspension till the first of the year. You continue to ignore the purpose of the board, refuse to help the tenants in any meaningful way and berate them needlessly. There are two separate legal issues that we will address to the poster, but to suggest a) that the person move, b) not give them any insights to their rights, and c) that you actually would suggest they divorce -- is way over the line. Hopefully you'll turn over a new leaf when (or if) we see you next year.
: Sorry but you admitted to having a permenant residence elsewhere.... so its time to move....
: The laws are for NYC residets only..so you could sell your other property, and make this your new home, and sue to get a cheap Rent stabilized lease.....
: OR it you want you could beg the new landlord to give you a RS lease at 20% more, and pay him some money under the table like a couple of thousand.... Illegal, but what the heck.....
: Was there any overcharge involved? was the rent listed at DHCR the same as your wife was paying? If there was an overcharge she could file a lawsuit aginst the old owner, and maybe get a lease.
: Of course the very very BEST option is to divorce her, then she would have a better claim on the apartment.
