Get a strong chain and a bolt on your door NOW !!! Do not wait another day !!
The act of walking into someone's bedroom and waking them up can be VERY dangerous to that person. They could be shot or worse !!! You need to get this chain so that this will NEVER EVER HAPPEN AGAIN !!! You need a slide bolt to add extra security to the lock and a chain to open the door a few inches prior to opening it up all the way. You need to remember this for the rest of your life and NEVER EVER live without a chain on your door....

The exterminator situation was not a surprise because she left notes up the day before but the plumber was a surprise. No more surprises while you are home.
Get the chain and a bolt and if she don't like them, tell her you feel unsafe without it and say nothing else to her but do not allow her to tell you to remove them. You have a right to be safe and secure while inside your home period !!!!!
