visitors

I live in a rent stabilized building in Manattan. My relative recently moved to NYC and is in transition until she can move into her apartment in December, so I have offered to let her share my studio with me for the month of November. We will essentially both be living here. I am not charging her rent, so I am wondering about the rules regarding this. Do I need to contact the landlord? I have scoured the lease and can't seem to find anything pertaining to this situation, but my landlord is a total hard-ass and will not hesitate for a moment to nail any person for even a perceived indiscretion.

Are there laws regarding visitors and the allowed length of stay? Do I have to fill out any forms? I would be happy to do whatever I have to do, I just don't want to break any rules. I have had two friends evicted from this building, which by the way, the landlord occupies as well.

Thanks for any advice.
