Do you have anything in writing? It would have been in your best interest that when this first came up that you would both have something written down and agreed upon. When you saw that he was being evasive, a Federal Express letter stating your intent to stay til November 30th should have been hot on his heels. Now for what you can do -- You can offer to sweeten the pot a little and pay for that month's rent plus a little extra for his "trouble". That's all I think you could do. As far as the month's rent and security, if he already has this, you are perfectly within your right to ask for it, or have it all apply to your November stay. Put it in writing if he agrees. If he's greedy and wants the two months' rent money, he may give in and let you stay til the November 30th deadline. You may have to prepared to write this off as a loss though. Maybe someone else has a better idea?
