DOB, HPD and DHCR records for SRO Hotel building where I have resided for more than 15 years are totally inconsistent.
CO41142 (Certificate of Occupancy)@ DOB from 1077 registers only 377 residential units here. HPD records indicate same number for the year 2000.
DHCR records 482! (used to be 428::maybe someone is dyslexic there?)
My question is: isn't this a severe violation of the Multiple Dwelling Laws?
A search of deed and property records in City Clerk's Office yields same low number of 377.
I wrote letters to both legal departments of DOB and HPD appraising them of this fact, with a request for follow-up action but no replies!
If a Multiple Dwelling Class B SRO Hotel is occupied in violation of the legal requirement that there exist a proper Certificate of Occupancy - does this affect the ability of LL to collect rents and/or increases allowable??
Also, Housing Court actions initiated by LL have always been done under the name ______________Hotel Co., whereas checks for rents are a
