FINDING OUT INFO

You can contact the Department of Housing Preservation and Development to get a copy of the multiple dwelling registration. This should have the owner's name and address, the super's name and a few other items. I believe they're supposed to file this every April.

An easier thing you can do from your home computer is to go to the city Finance and Tax Department web site and check the building information on the current real estate tax roll. This tells you the name and address of the owner, assessed value, back tax bill, exemptions and other stuff. You may need the block and lot number for this.
