The reason for alot of the conversions back in the 80's were to get defacto vacancy decontrol. Met life can do essentially the same thing by MCIing any vacant apartment they may have over $2000/month. This has been the routes that LL's have been taking during this boom. Consequently their haven't been many new conversions.

: I heard a rumor that Stuyvesant/PCV is considering going co-op. I also heard that they are holding onto an inventory or over 300 units. Anyone know if this may be true? How can I investigate whether this is true?
