In New York City, a month-to-month tenancy can be terminated with 30-days' written notice, which must be served in the same manner as a notice of petition and petition in housing court.

:
: Does anyone know in what manner a month to month lease is to be terminated. I know that there has to be a months notice, but does the termination paper have to be in writing and does it have to be personnally given to the person or can it just be left on or under the door or does it have to be mailed for example certified.
: Or if you know where to call to get the informaiton that would be helpful. This is in New York city, no rent control and no rent stabilzation.
