sounds like you had a very good deal and relationship with the landlord -- too bad you threw it away. sounds like you just don't want to move, period, is all. you like where you are, or like the deal you had for eight years and don't want to go elsewhere, lest you probably will pay a higher rent for a smaller space or not as nice neighborhood elswhere. Sorry, but I think the landlord is being very very helpful and trying to work with you and you're being stubborn and lazy.
