Landlords generally don't want hot plates in rooming houses, etc., which have no kitchens. But I see no reason not to have a hot plate in an apartment, especially if it's used in the kitchen. This would apply whether the apartment is rent regulated or not.

: Does anyone know whether a hot plate is legal or not in a rent stablised apartment in NYC? Is there such things as illegal appliances?

: Thanks
