We have been living in a 2-unit (not rent stabilized) private house in Queens for one years with no lease. The landlord lives in the same building. Now, we would like to establish a written lease.
My question: Is the landlord legally obliged to give us a written lease if we request it? If yes, how may we force him to establish a lease?
