pets

Posted by aurora on September 05, 2000 at 15:28:02:

I live in westchester county in a building that has four apartments. We found the apartment through a real estate broker, who despite the fact that the listing said "no pets" assured us not to worry about it. We got the apartment and when we went to sign the lease it had a "no pets" clause. Again, she said to not make an issue of it. We did indicate on our application that we had two cats. This application was sent to the landlord when we applied for the apartment. My question is: does this constitute disclosure if there ever is an issue with the cats? I called DHCR, but they were not much help.

My concern is that we are afraid that my landlord will try something "funny" if we try to complain about any problems we are having in the apartment.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks...
