They screwed up

They screwed up, and you need an apartment.

Since you signed a lease for a specific apartment they are bound to deliver that apartment to you. They admitted they made a mistake and have offered you a different apartment. I would use this as an opportunity to negotiate with them on the other apartment ... if it is not as big, in poorer condition, etc. point this out and insist on a lower rent, and that the start date of your new lease be the actual date you move in.

Technically you could sue them for failure to provide you the apartment -- but you probably don't want to, as this takes a long time and money, and you need an apartment right away.
