Well stated, these are important issues that the city needs to consider. I have friends in Houston who rented a HOUSE for $600 per month. That city has no rent controls whatsoever and no zoning laws - and its the tenants who benefit. Buildings offer all sorts of incentives to get people to move in. Totally different from New York City, we should get our politicians (and fellow housing advocates) to work towards something like that.
