The weekly Real Estate section of The New York Times has a Q & A column, including a question about the name on a rent check, where a wife's name was added to a renewal lease (after the marriage), and the landlord is now refusing to accept rent checks with the wife's name, after accepting them for several years.
Colleen McGuire, Senior Editor of Housing Court Decisions on TenantNet, is quoted in the column.
