Did you just get a new lease? because a landlord cannot change the terms of a lease until it expires.

If its a new lease then yes he can add the water to your rent, starting from the first day of the new lease, and NOT before... YOU are ENTITLED to see the bill and see from what dates does it cover..and see if he figured it correctly, he probably is trying to rip you off for some more $$$.

If there is NO late fee mentioned on the lease....he can not charge you one, or threaten to evict you if you dont pay one he demands.....PERIOD!

: Our lease says we are responsible for water bill (new thing the LL is doing, along w/ a rent increase. We have an addendum to our lease stating how the bill will be figured, but it does not state when it is due or what the late fee is.

: There was a note on our door last month stating we had to pay the water bill WITH our rent. We didn't. The rent was on time. Today we rec'd a "5 day pay or quit" notice for the water bill. Does this sound legal? Can a LL make you pay utilities WITH your rent?
: (we live in Oklahoma)
