I am attempting to legally sublet my rent-stabilized apartment, and the landlord has sent me a questionnaire. My understanding is that such questionnaires may not be "overly burdensome." This one seeks W2's and credit card information, as well as social security numbers, from both the sublessee and me. It doesn't seem to me that we should be forced to provide such information. Any information on what could be considered burdensome would be appreciated. A separate issue is what constitutes proof that my out of state employment is temporary. I do not have my contract available; will an informal letter from my union testifying to the nature of my employment do the trick?
