... This 'Illusary Tenant' legal gambit. While I don't doubt Kenny per se, I've never heard of this before. Considering how prevalent illegal sublets have been both currently and in the past, I'm amazed that this concept has stayed below the radar. This is probably why Kenny is getting whacked with questions.
: Based on the above message, a few words are in order. First, there is no relationship between TenantNet and Kenny Hawk, financial or otherwise. He is a user on this board just like anyone else.
: Second (and I'm sure he forgot to say this): whatever he says on this board is not to be considered "Legal Advice" that should be relied upon in any given matter. That's not to say his observations don't have value. It's just not "legal advice." Whatever conversations take place on this board do not create or further any attorney-client relationship.
: Third, it's our policy (as of now) not to have advertising in the content section of the message board. We have advertisements for that. If we feel anyone is soliciting clients in this board, we will stop it. We're not suggesting he crossed the line, but better said now for any attorney on the board. There are any number of tenant attorneys who advertise on TenantNet. Potential clients (tenants) should choose their attoreneys carefully and wisely.
: There may be other disclaimers that we should elicit and the TenantNet web site has an overall disclaimer accessible from the home page.
: This is a forum for tenants. We certainly welcome any knowledgable attorney or lay person to be involved. We encourage tenants to post questions and try to answer other tenants' queries.
