Hope yall can help.My friend has been renting a house for 10 years. The landlord passed away and he continued to pay rent to his wife. The day came when she wasn't home any more and i found outshe was in a nursing home. My friend went by the house on numerous occasions but no one was there. Six months later his son moves in to her house. But yet there was still no contact. Seventh month he comes and says my friend owes back rent and this month rent.He up the back rent by 25.00 a month, and said if he didnt pay the back rent he would take him to court and take it out of his payckeck.My friend did pay that months rent and started looking for another place to live. We live in New Mexico. So now rent is due again, according to the new landlord and an evection notice for not paying rent.My friend moved out today but was served to go to court. Do yall think the landlord can get the back rent or what. Thanks.
