: I live in (Montgomery County) Maryland and my landlord is taking me to court 8/2 for failure to pay rent. I have had a lot of problems with this landlord and since she wants me out so bad, I'm gonna move therefore, I did not pay July Rent. I know that she can file for an eviction 4 days after the "Failure to Pay Rent" court date. I'm trying to buy time, I'm set to move into a new Apartment September 1st. My question is how long after she files for eviction will the actual eviction take place?

Since most of the people on this board are New Yorkers, and laws vary so much from state to state, I'm sorry but your best bet is to consult a local lawyer.
