Well we all got high bills this month due to the high oil prices...so figgure 50 to 100% more then last year as NORMAL!......... then .. Maybe they read it wrong.......1000 kwh at 15 cents =$150, so next month your bill will be less then ZERO....go read your meter and find out.

Or try shutting all the breakers in your apartment and then look at the electric meter the wheel should NOT be moving...if it is then maybe something is hooked on your line..

Keep the electric off for a few hours and see if anyone complains .....Have you noticed that your water is very very HOT? then it could be your water heater is burning up all that electricity, or is your Freezer caked with ICE, that would use up 100%-even 200% more then last month

or did they estimate the last couple of months at $30-40 a month becaquse they couldnt get into the basement to read the meters? then they finally read the meter and adjusted the amount?

: Hi all--

: My roommate and I just received a $300+ electricity bill for the month of July. We do not use air conditioning. Our other bills were around $30-$40 bucks a month. We've talked to PECO, our Philadelphia area electric company, and they checked the meter and said it was working fine. What do you think we should do next? (There's no way we used that much power in one month.)

: Thanks,

: Eric
