Parking problems - any hope?

Posted by Dave on July 26, 2000 at 18:02:38:

Hi,

I have been renting from the same complex for over two years. My wife and I originally started out in a 1br and moved to a 2br. We love the apt but the parking in our lot is terrible. We have residents from as many as 5 other buildings parking in a lot designed for one (about 10 to 12 cars). As a result the lot fills up and we are forced to park on the drive side of the lot (risking vehicle damage)or in lots that are hundreds of feet away. I feel that I pay good money for my rent and I should be guaranteed a parking spot in the lot closest to my building. What rights do I and my neigbors have? Would a petition signed by the residents be enough to force the landlords to go to reserved parking? Any information would be helpful. Thank you.
