J.A. Lobbia's column, Towers and Tenements, in this week's Village Voice reports that HPD Assistant Commissioner Elizabeth Bolden, who heads the Housing Litigation Bureau, wants to convert her single room occupancy (SRO) building into a private home.

The column also says that HPD may hire private tenant attorneys, to supplement the work of its meager staff in the Housing Litigation Bureau, to enforce housing code vioations.
