Read the lease!

Read about Texas tenants' rights and responsibilities!

If you read something you don't understand, quote it and someone can translate it from legalese to plain-english.

My landlord is not renewing my lease. As far as I'm aware though, I've done
nothing improper as a tenant. Can s/he do this?

Yes. The landlord -- and tenant -- can terminate the lease at the end of the lease term
without reason as long as the termination is not based on illegal discrimination or
retaliation for a tenant's exercising certain legal rights. Notice should be given (See
lease for exact amount of notice) if this is to occur.
