mngmt threatening to tear up new lease bec of questions we asked

Posted by PLK on June 12, 2000 at 12:13:45:

We just signed a lease that begins on July 1 (a Saturday this year). But management is being inflexible on this policy, refuses to start kease on the next weekday, and says there is no move-in policy on the weekends, thus we lose out on 2 days we pay for and run into the long holiday weekend.
But it gets better---
They now also informed us that the current tenant has the right to remain in the apartment until June 30, so we can't move in on the Friday night before. When we asked how they plan to do all the work the promised to (painting, polishing etc.) before we take occupancy on the following day, they threatened to tear up the lease if we continued to ask "legal and technical questions" and kept them on the line any longer.

Any suggestions? We can't find anyone else to talk to at this management company.
