If you have a lease, they cannot evict you until it expires.
If you are month-to-month, they must give you 30 days' notice.

Whatever rules apply to your particular situation, if you do not leave, they cannot evict you without a court order. So read about Illegal Evicitons, homepage of http://www.tenant.net/ and visit the Housing Court Decision section for more info on the eviction process.
