My apartment was damaged by an upstairs leak in my apartment building three months ago. The landlord repaired the damage but did not reduce my rent before the damage was repaired, as the law requires. I've already paid my rent in full for that time period (6 1/2 weeks), but the landlord promised to refund part of the rent I paid. I still haven't received a refund. Am I entitled to subtract part of this month's rent to make up for the time I was living in a damaged apartment? If so, how do I figure out how much to subtract?
