Landlord wants to show apartment while we're not home

Posted by Tullyt on May 24, 2000 at 15:12:35:

My roommate and I are moving out of our apartment on June 30. Our landlord has asked us to provide a set of keys to be given to a broker so that the apartment can be shown while we're not home. Can we refuse? Brokers are already calling and have sent people over - without being escorted by a broker - while we were home - meaning that we had to show the apartment. Why should we be responsible for having to show the place to people? And how can I trust that they will escort any prospective renters while we are not home if I provide keys. Does anyone know what our rights are in this situation??
